What is P2P Withdrawal Protection?

To protect user assets and reduce risks from fraud, payment reversals, and other irregular transactions, a temporary Withdrawal Protection, also known as a T+1 withdrawal delay, may be applied to certain assets purchased through P2P.

How does P2P Withdrawal Protection work?

After you purchase assets through P2P, the relevant amount may be temporarily unavailable for withdrawal. The assets will remain in your Funding Account and continue to appear in your account balance. The withdrawal restriction takes effect when a P2P order is completed and is automatically lifted 24 hours later.

For example, if your P2P order is completed at 2:30 PM UTC on October 21, the relevant assets are expected to become available for withdrawal after 2:30 PM UTC on October 22. Please refer to the release time displayed on your Assets page for the most accurate information.

Note: This restriction is only applied to on-chain withdrawals and other transfers out of Bybit (such as P2P trading, Bybit Card or Bybit Pay transactions, and One-Click Buy/Sell). It does not restrict other trading activities.

Why does Bybit apply Withdrawal Protection?

P2P transactions involve fiat payments made directly between buyers and sellers. Certain payment methods may be subject to delayed settlement, payment reversals, unauthorized payments, or transaction disputes.

The temporary withdrawal delay gives the system time to conduct risk checks and handle potentially irregular transactions. This helps:

  1. Prevent unauthorized payments and account misuse
  2. Reduce the risks of payment reversals and fraudulent transactions
  3. Protect the assets of P2P buyers, sellers, and other platform users
  4. Maintain a safe and reliable P2P trading environment

This is a security measure and does not necessarily mean that there is an issue with your order or account.

How do I know if the P2P T+1 withdrawal delay applies to my account?

If the assets purchased through a P2P order will be subject to a 24-hour withdrawal delay, a confirmation pop-up will appear when you place the order. Please review and acknowledge the notice before proceeding.

Does the P2P T+1 withdrawal delay apply to all users?

Whether a restriction applies may depend on the order, account, and the system’s risk assessment. Please refer to the information displayed on the Assets or Withdrawal page after completing your order.

How can I check the withdrawal-restricted amount and release time?

If your assets are subject to a withdrawal delay, you can view the restricted amount and the release time in your P2P Order History.

If you have completed multiple P2P orders, each order may have a different release time. The corresponding amounts will become available for withdrawal separately, based on when each order was completed.

Note: The release time will be extended if a dispute has been raised for the order. If the dispute is still unresolved at the scheduled release time, the restriction will remain in place until it is resolved. You can find the disputed order under the Appeal in Progress tab.

Can I still use the assets during the restriction period?

Yes. The T+1 withdrawal delay primarily applies to withdrawals and other operations that may transfer assets out of Bybit. Subject to product eligibility and regional restrictions, you may generally still:

  1. Transfer assets between your Bybit accounts
  2. Trade on the Spot or Derivatives markets
  3. Subscribe to eligible Bybit Earn products
  4. Hold the assets in your Funding Account
  5. Use other supported services within the Bybit platform

Availability may vary depending on the asset, product, and account. Please refer to the options shown on the relevant page. Trading and Earn products involve risk, and returns are not guaranteed.

Will the withdrawal delay be lifted automatically?

Under normal circumstances, the restriction will be lifted automatically at the release time shown on the page. Once the release time has passed, refresh the Assets or Withdrawal page to view your updated available withdrawal balance.

However, if a dispute has been raised for the order, the restriction will remain in place until the dispute is resolved.

Why am I still unable to withdraw after the estimated release time?

In addition to the P2P T+1 withdrawal delay, withdrawals may be affected by:

  1. An ongoing security or risk review
  2. Recent changes to your password, security settings, or verification methods
  3. Withdrawal service maintenance
  4. Restrictions related to another order or product
  5. Incomplete Identity Verification or security verification requirements

Please check the message displayed on the Withdrawal page. If the restriction remains after the estimated release time, contact Bybit Customer Support via the webform and provide the relevant P2P order number and a screenshot of the page.

Is T+1 based on the next calendar day?

No. T+1 generally refers to a 24-hour period beginning when the relevant P2P order is completed. It does not mean that the restriction will be lifted at 00:00 UTC on the next calendar day.

Will a canceled P2P Order trigger the withdrawal restriction?

Generally, a canceled order for which no assets were credited will not trigger a P2P withdrawal restriction.

However, if you are the seller, an amount equivalent to the canceled order may be temporarily frozen for 4 hours. It will be released automatically when the freeze period expires, provided that no dispute has been raised for the order.

Can the restriction be lifted early?

For security reasons, the standard T+1 waiting period cannot be lifted manually. Please wait until the withdrawal delay period expires.

Are my assets frozen during the withdrawal delay period?

The assets will appear in your account's available balance. A temporary withdrawal restriction does not mean that the assets have been confiscated or permanently frozen. Eligible services within the Bybit platform may remain available.

Will using an Earn product extend the restriction?

Using an Earn product generally does not change the original release time associated with the P2P order. However, if the assets remain subscribed to an Earn product, you may need to redeem them before making a withdrawal. Redemption times and conditions are subject to the rules of the relevant product.
