Trading Competition Leaderboards & Asset Tiers
Learn how trading competition leaderboards rank participants by percentage return and how asset tiers determine eligible instruments and prize distrib...
WSOT 2026 uses several leaderboards, including P&L, P&L% and volume rankings. In the Individual Showdown, asset tiers refer to a participant's Unified Trading Account balance—not to classifications of tokens by market capitalization or volatility.
This guide explains the live WSOT 2026 leaderboard and tier structure.
What Is a Trading Competition Leaderboard?
A leaderboard ranks eligible participants according to a published competition metric.
WSOT 2026 uses real account activity. It is not a paper-trading contest with standardized virtual portfolios, Sharpe-ratio scoring or simulated starting capital.
Different WSOT sections use different metrics:
- Individual Showdown: P&L within a UTA asset tier
- Squad Showdown: squad P&L%
- AI Showdown: P&L for each eligible AI Subaccount
- Global Assets: eligible Spot or TradFi Perps volume
Individual Showdown Asset Tiers
The Individual Showdown separates eligible participants into three groups according to UTA balance.
| Individual tier | UTA balance requirement |
|---|---|
| Lightweight | At least 100 USDT and below 2,000 USDT |
| Middleweight | At least 2,000 USDT and below 10,000 USDT |
| Heavyweight | At least 10,000 USDT |
These are account-balance tiers. They do not classify BTC, ETH or other assets as Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3.
When Is the Tier Determined?
Participants can move into a higher tier by reaching the relevant balance threshold before November 13, 2026 at 10:00 UTC.
After that point, a user is not downgraded if the balance later decreases. However, registered UTA accounts must maintain at least $100 during the main competition to qualify for the Individual leaderboard.
How the Individual Leaderboard Is Ranked
Participants are ranked by P&L within their respective tier.
The official profit calculation is:
Profit = Final equity, including unrealized P&L and/or bonus − Initial equity, including unrealized P&L and/or bonus + Withdrawals − Deposits
This calculation means:
- Unrealized P&L can affect final equity.
- Deposits do not simply become competition profit.
- Withdrawals and transfers are incorporated according to the terms.
- Asset-price changes can affect the USD value of UTA equity.
Account equity is updated periodically during the competition.
Minimum Volume Requirements
Rank alone does not guarantee the reward shown for a position. The participant must also meet that position's minimum qualifying volume.
The Individual Showdown formula is:
Futures × 1 + (Spot + Convert) × 1.5 + Options ÷ 5
Volume is an eligibility condition; it is not combined with P&L to create a universal ranking score.
Squad Showdown Leaderboard
Squad Showdown is ranked by squad P&L%, not by virtual-portfolio return or Sharpe ratio.
Individual P&L% is calculated as:
P&L% = Profit ÷ (Initial equity + Total deposits) × 100%
Squads must reach at least 10 members before November 13 at 09:30 UTC. Squads below the minimum are dissolved.
Only members with at least 50,000 USDT in qualifying volume can enter their squad's P&L% Top 10. The Squad Leader can receive the leader allocation without meeting that specific threshold.
AI Showdown Leaderboard
Only Bybit AI Subaccounts and General AI Subaccounts are eligible.
Each registered eligible account is ranked separately by P&L. P&L from several accounts is not combined.
Accounts must maintain at least $100 during the main competition and meet the minimum volume for the applicable reward tier.
Global Assets Leaderboards
Global Assets does not use the Individual asset tiers.
Spot Volume Leaderboard
Ranks eligible users by:
Spot + Convert + Direct Stock + DCA + Grid Bot Spot volume
TradFi Perps Volume Leaderboard
Ranks eligible users by:
TradFi Perps taker volume
Both competitions require the participant to meet the minimum volume associated with the final reward position.
Why UTA Balance Tiers Are Used
The tiers group Individual Showdown participants with accounts of broadly comparable size. A larger balance does not automatically rank above a smaller one; it places the account into a different leaderboard.
Within each tier, eligible P&L determines rank. The system therefore separates the account-size threshold from the performance metric.
What Asset Tiers Do Not Mean
In this competition, asset tiers do not refer to:
- Large-cap versus small-cap cryptocurrencies
- High-liquidity versus low-liquidity tokens
- A permitted universe of Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 coins
- Risk-adjusted Sharpe-ratio categories
- Virtual starting portfolios
Those concepts may appear in other competitions, but they do not describe the official WSOT 2026 Individual Showdown tiers.
Deposits, Withdrawals and Tier Strategy
Moving funds before or during the competition can have several effects:
- A pre-competition deposit may move the account into a higher tier.
- A transfer during the competition may be treated as a deposit or withdrawal.
- Asset-price movements may change the USD value of account equity.
- Falling below $100 during the main competition can remove leaderboard eligibility.
Participants should review the formula before moving funds solely to influence a tier.
Fairness and Risk Controls
Bybit applies post-campaign review before confirming final rankings and rewards.
Prohibited behavior includes wash trading, volume manipulation, matched trading, multi-account abuse and market manipulation. The event terms also describe possible disqualification for excessive order cancellation.
Leaderboard strategy should never depend on artificial activity or coordinated matching.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are WSOT asset tiers based on crypto market capitalization?
No. Individual Showdown tiers are based on the participant's UTA balance.
Is WSOT 2026 a simulated competition?
No. The Showdowns use real eligible account activity and involve real financial risk.
Does a larger account always rank higher?
No. A larger account may enter a higher tier, but P&L determines rank within that tier.
Does unrealized P&L count?
Final equity includes unrealized P&L under the published calculation.
Is the Global Assets leaderboard divided by UTA tier?
The published Global Assets rules describe volume leaderboards, not the Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight Individual tiers.
Final Takeaway
WSOT 2026 uses account-balance tiers only for the Individual Showdown. Those tiers determine the participant's peer group, while P&L determines rank and qualifying volume determines reward eligibility.
