About Vulcan Forged (PYR)

What Is Vulcan Forged (PYR)?

PYR is an ERC-20/MATIC–compatible token that powers the entire Vulcan Forged ecosystem — an NFT-based ecosystem consisting of a DApp incubator with play-to-earn games, an NFT marketplace and its own DEX, VulcanDEX.

Initially launched as a small NFT art site, Vulcan Forged has evolved and developed more features that add utility to its PYR token. Its version of a metaverse, VulcanVerse, is its flagship MMORPG game in which players can create quests and acquire land in the form of NFTs.

Vulcan Forged has also developed Elysium, a high-performance, carbon-neutral blockchain designed for gaming and NFT projects. It’s powered by LAVA tokens, which are generated by staking PYR.

Vulcan Forged (PYR) Price 

PYR was launched on the Polygon (MATIC) network in January 2021. The token’s price didn’t experience much activity until late April 2021, rising (from $2.15) to $5.72 on May 6, 2021. From there, the Vulcan Forged price declined gradually and traded sideways for a while.

However, the onset of the slight bull run in Q4 2021 witnessed PYR climbing once more. In mid-September, the token rose steadily, with impressive price pumps in late October and early December. 

On October 25, Vulcan Forged spiked from $9.84 and pumped nonstop the entire week to hit $21.77 on November 1, 2021. In fact, November was one of the best performing months for PYR with daily, rapid price increments, hitting its highest price of $49.24 on December 1, 2021.

Thereafter, the price slid just as precipitously to below $10 by late January 2022. With news that its Elysium blockchain testnet was going live, PYR quickly pumped to $15.28 on February 8, but the price didn’t hold and fluctuated around the critical support of $8, which finally broke in mid-May. As the market continues to stagnate, Vulcan Forged has been trading sideways for some months at around $4.

What Is PYR Used For?

PYR is the native currency fueling the Vulcan Forged ecosystem. Paired with its secondary token, LAVA, its utility continues to increase as the platform evolves. Its use cases in the platform are to:

  • Buy and sell on the Vulcan Forged marketplace

  • Stake and level up NFTs in VulcanVerse

  • Stake and farm PYR on VulcanDex

  • Earn PYR by playing Vulcan Forged games

  • Stake with Elysium blockchain nodes to earn LAVA

PYR Tokenomics

PYR has a maximum supply of 50 million tokens allocated as follows:

  • Staking pool — 20% released monthly at a rate of 203,000 PYR, over a period of four years from launch

  • ICO — 40%

  • Team — 5% to be released starting March 23, 2024

  • Reserve — 35% locked for four years
