How the Bybit MNT Holder Program compares to those of other exchanges

In the competitive crypto trading market, exchanges’ token holder programs have become a primary way for traders to unlock VIP perks like reduced fees and enhanced limits. These programs increase a token's utility and reward loyal users. Bybit has developed an innovative approach with its new integration of the Mantle (MNT) token.

By combining the Bybit MNT Holder Program with direct fee discounts, Bybit has created a powerful dual-benefit system. This article compares Bybit’s model to the holder programs of BNB token (BNB) and Bitget token (BGB) to show how Bybit MNT provides a more flexible and cost-effective path for traders.

Key Takeaways:

• The Bybit MNT Holder Program uses an asset multiplier to help users qualify with less capital for VIP tiers.

• Bybit offers direct fee discounts of 25% on spot and 10% on derivatives for all users who pay fees with MNT.

• Compared to the BNB holder program and BGB holder program, Bybit's model provides greater flexibility and broader fee discounts.

Overview of the Bybit MNT Holder Program

The Bybit MNT Holder Program is a strategic initiative that enhances token utility by making it easier to become a Bybit VIP. It applies a multiplier to a user's MNT holdings when calculating their total asset balance for VIP qualification.

This multiplier helps traders reach higher VIP tiers faster. For instance, a non-VIP has a 1.5x multiplier on their MNT, allowing them to qualify for VIP 1 with only around $67,000 worth of MNT, instead of $100,000 for other assets.

Separately, Bybit offers direct fee discounts to all users who pay fees with MNT. This gives a 25% discount on spot trading and a 10% discount on linear contracts for all non-API transactions.

Comparison with Binance's BNB holder program

The BNB holder program on Binance also integrates its native token into the exchange's VIP structure. However, its model is stricter than Bybit's. In order to qualify for VIP 1 through VIP 4, a user must meet both a 30-day trading volume requirement and hold a minimum BNB balance. For example, VIP 1 requires at least $500K in 30-day volume and a balance of at least 25 BNB. This dual requirement can be restrictive for traders who excel in one area, but not the other.

While Binance offers a 25% discount on spot trading fees when paying with BNB, this is a general feature, and isn’t directly tied to its VIP holder program in the same way that Bybit's model is structured.

Comparison with Bitget's BGB Holder Program

Bitget's BGB Holder Program offers more flexibility than Binance’s. Users can qualify for VIP tiers by meeting requirements in either asset balance, trading volume or BGB holdings. While this offers multiple paths, Bitget’s fee discount structure is more limited than Bybit's. The BGB holder program provides a 20% discount, but this applies to spot trading fees only. This leaves derivatives traders without a direct fee benefit from holding BGB.

Key advantages of Bybit's MNT Holder Program

Bybit's approach provides a more flexible and comprehensive benefits package compared to those of its competitors. The MNT asset multiplier allows traders to reach VIP status with significantly less capital. This inclusivity means that traders can access lower fees and better perks without needing to meet rigid, dual-criteria requirements.

Fee discounts on Bybit MNT are another major advantage. The 25% spot discount is higher than Bitget's, and the additional 10% discount on derivatives is a benefit that neither Binance nor Bitget offers through their holder programs, making the Bybit MNT Holder Program particularly attractive for active futures traders.

This creates a dual growth opportunity. A trader benefits from their effective balance being inflated by the multiplier, while they also have the potential to gain from any price appreciation of the MNT token. This combination offers a clear path to upgrade VIP tiers faster, and to save more on trading fees.
