Berachain (BERA), founded in 2021, is a Layer 1 blockchain with Proof-of-Liquidity consensus, ensuring security and liquidity while maintaining full Ethereum compatibility. Berachain launched its mainnet on February 6, alongside a $632 million BERA airdrop to eligible users. Around 79 million BERA tokens were distributed, primarily to Bong Bears NFT holders. BERA serves as the network’s gas and staking token. Berachain uses a Proof-of-Liquidity consensus to enhance security and liquidity.
