Detailed Summary

Disclaimer: Bybit TradFi has been renamed to Bybit CFD as of July 2026. Bybit CFD is powered by Infra Capital (Mauritius FSC licensed). If you previously used Bybit MT5 or the product called TradFi, you are now using Bybit CFD. Your instruments, fees, leverage and open positions are unchanged.

Bybit CFD gives you access to more than 500 traditional financial instruments, including forex, gold, stocks, indices and commodities, using USDT-based collateral from your Bybit account. It is powered by Infra Capital and available through the Bybit App, Bybit website and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) desktop client.

If you previously used Bybit MT5 or the product called TradFi: the product is now called Bybit CFD. The account is now called the MT5 CFD Account. Instruments, leverage, fees and open positions are unchanged.

Key takeaways

  • Bybit CFD (formerly Bybit MT5 / TradFi) gives you access to 500+ instruments across forex, metals, indices, stocks and commodities, with up to 500x leverage on forex.

  • It requires a dedicated MT5 CFD Account, separate from your Unified Trading Account (UTA) but linked to the same Bybit login. You can now trade CFD directly in the Bybit App or on the Bybit website without installing the MT5 desktop client.

  • Two fee modes are available: Zero-Fee Mode (costs built into the spread) and Tight-Spread Mode (narrower spreads with separate commissions). Both give you access to the same instruments.

What is Bybit CFD?

Bybit CFD is the platform's trading product for traditional financial assets. A contract for difference (CFD) is a derivative. You agree to exchange the difference in an asset's price between when a position opens and when it closes. You never own the underlying asset. If the price moves in your favor, you profit from that difference. If it moves against you, you incur a loss.

CFD on Bybit is powered by Infra Capital (licensed by the Mauritius FSC). It supports trading through MetaTrader 5, the Bybit App and the Bybit website. The product was previously called TradFi and, before that, Bybit MT5. The trading conditions (instruments, leverage, spreads and fees) are unchanged.

Note: The TradFi section on Bybit also contains TradFi Perpetuals, a separate, Bybit-native product that uses your existing UTA and trades 24/7. This article covers CFD only. For a comparison of both products, see CFD vs. TradFi Perpetuals on Bybit.

How to access Bybit CFD

On the Bybit App: tap TradFi in the bottom navigation bar, then select the CFD sub-tab.

On the Bybit website: hover over TradFi in the top navigation bar and select CFD from the dropdown.

How to set up your MT5 CFD Account

CFD trading on Bybit requires a dedicated MT5 CFD Account. This is a one-time setup. It does not require a separate Bybit login. It is simply a different trading account within your existing Bybit ecosystem.

1. Log in to your Bybit account and complete KYC verification (Level 1 or above).

2. Navigate to the TradFi section: tap TradFi → CFD on the App, or hover TradFi → CFD on the website.

3. Tap or click Apply to create your MT5 CFD Account.

4. Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

5. Set your MT5 Master Password. Store this securely. It is used to log in to the MT5 desktop client if you use it.

6. Your MT5 CFD Account is created. You can now trade directly in the Bybit App or website, or download the MT5 desktop client for advanced features.

How to fund your MT5 CFD Account

Funds for CFD trading are held in your MT5 CFD Account, separate from your UTA. Transfer USDT or BYUSDT into the account before trading.

  1. Go to Assets in the Bybit App or website, then select MT5 CFD Account. Alternatively, transfer funds directly from within the TradFiCFD section.

  2. Select Transfer and choose USDT or BYUSDT as the source asset.

  3. Enter the amount and confirm the transfer.

  4. Your balance displays in USDx at a 1:1 ratio with USDT. USDx is an internal display unit. It is not a cryptocurrency and cannot be deposited or withdrawn directly.

To withdraw funds, transfer USDx back to your Funding Account via the same transfer flow. Funds return as USDT or BYUSDT.

How to trade on the Bybit App or website

You can now trade CFD instruments directly in the Bybit App and the Bybit website. This suits traders who want straightforward access to CFD markets without the full MT5 setup.

7. Tap or click TradFi → CFD.

8. Select an asset category: Forex, Stocks, Metals, Indices or Commodities.

9. Select a pair or instrument to open the trading screen.

10. Set your order details:

  • Direction: Buy (long) or Sell (short).

  • Value in USDx or quantity in lots.

  • Order type: Market (immediate execution) or Limit (executes at your specified price).

  • Take-profit and stop-loss (optional).

11. Tap or click Buy or Sell to submit the order.

Fee modes: Zero-Fee vs. Tight-Spread

CFD on Bybit offers two account modes that differ in how trading costs are charged. Both give access to the same markets and instruments.

Zero-Fee Mode is the default. No separate commission is charged — trading costs are included in the spread between the buy and sell price. Well suited to beginners and casual traders who prefer straightforward pricing.

Tight-Spread Mode offers narrower spreads with commissions calculated separately. Designed for active and high-frequency traders who place many trades and want more precise pricing.

The bottom line

Bybit CFD, previously called Bybit MT5 and then TradFi, gives you access to more than 500 traditional financial instruments with professional-grade tools and competitive fees. It is accessible directly in the Bybit App and on the Bybit website, without needing the MT5 desktop client for everyday trading.

The MT5 desktop client remains available for Expert Advisors, advanced charting and algorithmic strategies. For traders who want 24/7 access to traditional markets through their existing UTA, TradFi Perpetuals (in the same TradFi section) may be a better fit.
